PDF fingerprint check
Check a CustodyBook PDF
CustodyBook reports (version 1.9 and later) print a fingerprint at the bottom of each page: a long code calculated from the report's data. Choose the PDF below and this page checks that the data inside the file still matches that fingerprint.
Your file stays on your device. The check runs in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved.
Or drag the file here.
What this check means
- "Matches" means the report data inside this PDF is the same data the fingerprint was calculated from.
- If anyone edits the data, the fingerprint will not match. It can't tell you who made the record.
- It checks the data file attached inside the PDF, not the text you see on the pages. Anyone who edits a file can also make a new fingerprint.
- It does not prove who made the report, when the events happened, or that the entries are true. The person who keeps the log can edit entries before exporting; the report shows when each entry was created and last edited.
- It is not legal advice. Whether a judge accepts any record is up to the court.
